A couple more small jobs done today - in between looking after children and dodging rain and hale!
  • Exhaust leaking on join under gearstick area - removal and reposition of clamp and sorted.
  • Passenger side door mirror replaced as old one had a piece missing out of the base plate.
  • Oil, filter and washer changed.
  • Realigned and tightened up front bumper.
  • New plain number plates fitted - so much nicer.

Fixed the keyless entry system - everything worked except drivers sensor to unlock/lock when you put your hand in the door handle. So new sensor bought and fitted and ALL of the keyless system is now working :)

Just read from start to finish, amazing car history mate.
And the attention to detail/OCD is inspiring!

Well what an epic day I have just had 😄
Spent the day in South Wales with the R26 on a magazine photo shoot with 2 other cars:

Thanks very much matey. Yes OCD is probably the best way to describe it :)

Dean smith was the photographer that day. I’ve worked with him at Anglesey on the EVO shoot with the Ford GT. Cracking guy and his work is unreal! Me on the left 😂

Also I’ve read all the way through the thread and wow!! Just perfection all the way through. Great cars!

Excellent stuff! I painted the bells / centres etc of mine when I had them done a few years ago. I even painted the edge of the discs where the vents are too. I hate rusty discs!!

Whilst stripped I noticed the drivers side swivel bearing isn’t happy so waiting on new parts for a rebuild.

Awesome work mate!

If you want them swivels doing let me know as I've got everything to rebuild mine, if it goes well I might offer out rebuilds cheaper than the scammers on the Meg pages😂

Trophy 225 Megane

Headlights bulb was playing up so as the bumper had to come off I thought I would polish the headlights up as well as changing the bulbs:
Sorry no before photos but came out like brand new:

That would be awesome buddy - I may take you up on that offer. I have done loads of research and looks doable at home. I ordered a set of swivel bearings and seals 2 weeks ago and cost £35 for the lot but still waiting for them to arrive mate :( I am just hoping the inner race/turrets are salvageable!

Ouch lol

Ive just paid out £33 for new swivel bearings and another £80 on wheel bearings😥 Not cheap considering a clio hub can be rebuilt for about 14 pence😂

Have you got a press also to do the wheel bearings? I have got some new wheel bearings (cost £40) also but was going to take them to a willing garage to sort them for me. As said I think I can do the lower swivels myself.
I have a pair of spare hubs ready for the rebuild.
