MOT Fail. But on the plus side.....

  Iceberg 172
OK so I thought it might need a couple of odd jobs doing but..... failed on worned front discs and a leaking shock absorber. Arse. How much are OEM discs, pads and shockers?

I also asked them to take a look at the [original 5yrs/42k] exhaust as I suspected it was blowing very slightly. It is. In two places. And needs replacing for the MoT. Ouch, that's going to be expensive just before Xmas.

Still, what the hell - I was going to wait till after Xmas but it'll have to be done now, so a new K-Tec Stealth is on order already :D

Credit crunch? Yer not kidding, my credit card just taken a direct hit. Oh well, at least the car will be fit and well for that trip into EVO territory of mid-Wales that we have planned :clown:

Go for Brembo HC Discs and either EBC Green Stuff or Ferrodo DS2500 Pads, plus braided lines and some good fluid if you can stretch, wont cost you too much more and a nice improvement over standard.

What Badger said, HC discs are cheaper than OE part, check eBay. OE shocks are £58 a piece, but you'll need 2, always (like tyres) change the axel.

I have the Brembo HC Discs and Ferodo DS2500s on standard lines and not changed the fluid - they are still awesome! I heard the green stuff pads were crap - not sure though as never tried them

Ah well, too late - the discs had to be done in a rush this afternoon so standard replacements. £45 each.

I queried whether the shocks needed replacing as a pair and they assured me that it WASN'T necessary..... :S and this is a well-respected renault specialist in Leeds, well known on here. Hmmm.
