Mr Plums Progress.. Clio 182 Turbo!

Just a small update, my car picked up a small misfire, so i contacted Andy at clioturbo who did my conversion and he sent me out a new set of plugs and leads..

They were sent out yesterday and i received them today, all free of charge, thanks Andy :hearteyes:

Now all sorted and running 100% again!

Popped a new pollen filter in today, it needed it imo..

I am very happy with the car now its almost there, i have a handbrake cable and a cv boot to fit, then the car will be 100% niggle free.

I have only had little teething problems which have now all been sorted apart from the above two, which i have the parts for here :)

I will then be able to start the mods again, i have had a quote for a wheel refurb and the car prepped and lacquered by a recommended painter, is this a good or bad idea?

My mate that used to work in a body shop said it will come back showroom condition, but i just think a machine polish will be just as good as the paintwork is pretty much 100%

Thanks mate, whats your name again i didnt catch it on Sunday :blush:

I sorted the boost hose that popped off :smile: I unclipped it from both hoses and then jubilee clipped it to the turbo 1st, i could get better access that way and i managed to get it on better right to the bottom and to sit flush so that shouldnt happen again :smile:

That's good mate. So glad it's sorted for you mate. I think I would turbo mine, definitely. I'm just going to have to weigh it all up and see if its the right thing to do!

I f**king love this car it's very fast. LOL.

I was just going to see if you had bought some Mikalor clamps or not for that silicon hose that kept jumping off.

I see you've removed that video already :(

Lol, i didnt get those jubalee clips you were on about mate, i took the hose off completely and fastened it to the turbo first so i could get it right on to the bottom and secure, its stayed nice and tight now :smile:

f**k me so that's sub 4 seconds to 60? What's she like on low boost mate? Might be a viable option for me in the near future actually! You be in Germany again soon mate? You be near the autobahn for a low boost run on video? ;)

No not sub 4 mate, below 5 seconds tho.

I'm not sure how much quicker it is on high boost mate, but you can feel a big difference and the turbo noise and everything changes like you are taking off on a boeing 757.

No more vids mate, I don't like giving it the beans too much and I got home from Germany today :)

It might help a little mate, but its mainly for through the corners to eliminate under steer iirc.

What power you running and what tyres?

The semi slick ones or the road tyres? If you have the road tyres i would change them mate, theyre not the best tyres especially in these conditions :)

The next time i see you mate, ill take you out in it on low boost and let you feel the difference, ill switch between the two to give you a clear comparison ;)

Ah s**t that would be absolutely awesome mate so yours is basically stage 1 isn't it in low boost :) might do it pal that thanks so much. Might be coming Saturday not a 100% might be f**king working :(

Basically mate yes, its a lot more drivable than standard and its obviously much quicker low down the revs, the top speed is also much improved and doesnt hit a brick wall like standard after 120mph.

You will be impressed, but after driving it in full boost, low boost feels slightly tame to me lol.

Basically, I'm saving like a b*****d for a house and due to other commitments im thinking in the future, but not too far just next year basically because of insurance lol.

I'm thinking I'll try the specialist insurers for my standard car this year and then ask how much it'd be if I Turbo'd it, and then I can always add the cost on if I get to my price if I do it early haha.

I'm leaning towards high boost I must say really. I think it'd be driven low boost for the majority of the time and then high boost for pissing about and for the fact that with his stage 2 you get more supportive mods to allow the engine to run as safely as possible.

Have you by chance uprated the head gasket or anything other than pistons?

Really excited now really haha! Do you think I should bother with a LSD? Or just leave it? Yours seemed to put it down well to be fair! I don't imagine you had it flat through first and second though did you?
