Mr Plums Progress.. Clio 182 Turbo!

Not really an update, but the car was dropped off yesterday evening, he said it will be started on today, and im booked in at efi on the 17th.

Im going to get new discs and pads front and back plus a fluid change, and a good set tyres all round, then ill look into some coilovers. Im not fussed on how good theyll be on track, as long as they are decent on the road and give a nice low stance.

There's no such thing as good cheap coilovers.

Who's doing the box and other bits? The same guy you took it to last time you had problems with it, can't remember who it was.

No mate that was andy at clioturbo, i just bought a second hand box off him the last time which i payed him to fit for me.

Andy at overboost is doing the bits this time, although my box went to a specialists in leeds to be opened up and checked over and the few bits done to it so i know the box is good.

The Andy who owns overboost is the guy that has previously worked for rstuning and efi parts, he was recommended to me by scoff of efi, he said hes very good and knowledgeable and knows his s**t, so this was good enough for me.

Hes the guy that's built the mk1 clio rear wheel drive 500+hp weapon, he can do anything from electrical to mechanical to chassis changes.

He has now set up his own business, hes a proper sound guy too, like a mate almost.

No, I'm sure you went to someone local when you had some running problems? I'd go back in this thread and look but I'm at work and I can't be bothered haha.

When you next see him, ask him for a price on labour to fit an alternator and new aux belt as I think mine needs changing!

I run GAZ GHA full coilovers on my 182, and i was able to carry better speeds through corners at brands that my friends 182 on bilstein b14's , they were to soft, the corner of his front bumper was almost touching the floor with the body sway, he has std b14 spring rates (not sure what they are) i am aware of the old cs.net reputation about gaz coilovers but i chose to ignore it because it stems from years old threads on here, the coilovers were not a full coilover back then and they have since been revised a few times. just to note i also have the kamracing spring rates (450lb front 350lb rear) the standard gha spring rates are way too soft, something like 275lb front and hella low rear.
As for lowering, gaz hit the deck front and rear, alot lower than you can actually run anyway (without major scrubbing issues) and the b14's can almost hit the deck front but rear can only lower something stupid like 20mm from standard height

Lol how much s**t can one man do in a car?
Literally everything mate! Just no pride taken at all!

So i should be picking the car up Saturday with new..

Good gearbox +oil
New blue plug crank sensor(recommended by scoff)
Enginge oil +filter
Walbro fuel pump.
New subframe bolts and fixings
General tidy up of pipework/wiring etc

Efi parts on Thursday for a map tweak and health check.

I hate cars!

I collected the car from Andy at overboost today and the gearbox feels absolutely brilliant now, it feels lile a totally different box, really nice , no sloppy feeling at all im over the moon!

He even gave it a clean for me on collection, im in love again! And the service book stamped up to date which is always nice.

He's also done a lot of tidying up of wires etc too, and moved the actuator rod as it was rubbing, overall im very happy with the car now, mapping on Thursday, then its brakes time, then tyres, then coilovers.

Beans on toast for me for a while!
