MS Server 2000 > 2003 Migration question

Just wondering if anyone has come across this scenario ...

Existing Win 2000 Server + Exchange Server 2000 on same machine.

I will be adding 2 x Win 2003 servers.

If i prep the 2000 AD will exchange 2000 throw a wobbler ? The idea is to leave that win 2000 exchange machine on the 2003 domain once migrated for a while before upgrading it.
