My 182 mpg today

  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf
After a temp cooling sensor decided to throw in the towel on my 182 the other day i decided to do a little test on the way to renault wolverhampton this morning for some warranty work.
Driving there i didnt get over 55mph on the road from leegomery through priorslee and over to shifnal through chapel ash.Following a bus for half the journey kept my mph down i will add.
On the way home i came down the M54 from wolves doing between 70 and 80mph coming off at tesco's with quite a spirited drive for the last 3 miles from tesco to leegomery.

On the way there i averaged 24 mpg
On the way back i averaged 42 mpg

Buggers those temp sensors

not sure how accurate the mpg reading is in these

ours does an average 33mpg over 2 tanks of fuel - but if i do a manual calculation on gallons used i only get about 30mpg

done 550 miles.. some of them very hard miles too.

average 36mpg.

allthough it starts drinking it on the motorway anything above 75..

crickey - we gets about 170 to half a tank!!

glad our clio is good on fuel though - the cossie that i use as a toy does 12mpg if i'm luckly - single figures if i boot it - only runs on super unleaded too unlike the clio which i can put both in

Mines always been very good.I can get around 350+miles on a tank with spireted driving to wales and back.I only really use at weekends to go to wales for some chips as a fun drive.Hence 5k in a year

Renault wolves any good Ian?

I cant fault them tbh.I used to have an import 172 and took it to telford but they were tossers about the whole car and used to take the piss with whats covered by warranty and stuff.Even after i showed them a letter from ren U.K stating all cars were covered after jan 2002 they were still crap.
So i vowed never to use them again.
I got the offer of F+F and took it from wolves.Telford are a franchise and ren wolves are a main dealer so straight away they treated me much better...

I'm averaging 35mpg according to the trip computer. I filled the car last week and after 305 miles the empty light has lit up, strangely the car claims to only have used 9 gallons of petrol.

my god i've had my 182 2years this june and i dont think i have ever had over 30mpg at the mo im 29.1mpg! Must be due to majority of my driving being through town lots of gear changing etc!

Wouldnt be a problem if petrol prices werent so ridiculous.

Driving from Roermond (Germany) to Calais (222m) is 3/4 tank doing constant 85mph at a 33mpg.

On the Autobahn's however when booting it or getting germans trying to race you were looking at about 17 - 19mpg doing like top end in 5th almost off the limiter.

"Gotta love no speed limits thou heh"

oh and....

Tax Free Fuel (£4:20/10L) :D Not to mention that Shell V power 100ron :p
