My 260bhp Clio mod!

  Not got a car
I had this shizzel on my old VTS, It was done by Carworx in Letchworth, Felt awesome when it was going but for some reason the head gasket kept cracking, went through 4 gaskets then decided enough was enough then took it all out. I had the wizzard of NOS kit 50bhp jets.

Was the biggest waiste of money ever. Hope you have better luck

This is cool! Great to see something different! I think it would be alot better than itb's as u can use I as u need/want it which won't distroy the MPG unlike itb's would.. Little bit cheaper fitted aswell ;) I think this is the best value mod ATM!

Love it!

2k outlay, 8 minutes of non permanent fun then your done and 55 quid everytime you need it isnt really ''best value mod'' if you think about it...Great for drag racing or if your not fussy about having bhp on tap all the time but i reckon it would be frustrating after a while

Bullcrap about ITB's mpg (apparently). Going by posts on here folk can get pretty much stock levels of mpg taking it easy with ITB's or not far off it

What Andy says, NOS does not appeal to me in the slightest.
but fair play to you

nice to see something unusual on here. You say 8 minutes per tank which could go quite quick as if you're having a blast round twisties you'll be high reving a lot and use up a fair bit. Will be interesting to see how long it takes on average before you refill. If it is addictive it may only take a few days if that

Dont think it makes a great deal of diff on a n/a car.

If anything makes the biggest difference on an N/A as it imitates forced induction by introducing much more pure oxygen into the cylinder and increasing volumetric efficiency majorly, plus it has a high nitrogen content to suppress pre-ignition and cool the intake manifold.

All i'll say is its good enough to beat a new 300bhp Focus RS... ;)

Empty atm and im broke as a joke this month as petrol will cost more than nitrous if things continue how they are.

Soon though.

  RS RIP
respect for being different ! I would be WORRIED every time i flipped the switch haha

But i' even worried now ; releasing my subtile (blasting) cam-power which is there on mine , all the stress noises coming from the box :). Bodies will be the only thing i will put mine through, definately. There are too many negatives going around about NOS

Nice to see something different done on here. Well done mate, bet its awesome fun! Looks proper too.

different???? lmao....theres been plenty nosd clios over the years.

personally i think its a waste of money. id rather spend the money on mods that are permanant rather than a 5 min shot til the bottles empty.

Nitrous is perfectly reliable if used correctly and u don't get greedy with the power.

Too much assumtions from ppl watching fast and furious with floor pans falling out etc.

Ever seen top gear with the crappy jag beating the Porsche? Speaks for itself.

nos is reliable if fitted correctly. just not permanant. like i said, its ok til the bottle runs out. think adi used to get about 8-9 runs out of his 11lb bottle on his valver way back when, and was £4 a lb for a refill back then iirc. took about a second off his 1/4 times. but, again, for the cost of the kit, and installation, and a couple of bottle refills, he could have fitted bodies and had the same results, but ALL the time.

horses for courses, but false economy in my books. nos should be a last ditch effort to get the last 0.001bhp out of a very well tuned engine ....all imho .

Nitrous also introduces nitrogen into the cylinders which also dampens dentonation actually making nitrous more reliable than standard.

Obviously there becomes a point where too much extra pressure in the cylinder overcomes the original size ( about 75bhp for a 2 litre n/a ).

I get approx 4 minutes 30 seconds on spray from my bottle, and its £50 to refill. Although this wouldnt suit some people im very happy with the performance with no nos so its very rarely used ( usually only to embarresse a subaru or focu rs lol ). So a tank lasts me about 2 months or so.

My current setup is very different from that shown on the thread, with a more advanced control unit and a better pressure regulated bottle with smoother lines for quicker delivery.
