My Clio 172 Cup

  172 Cup
Bought for 1000 of my hard earned pounds

Well it turns out the M.O.T. is dodgier than Phil Mitchell and its had little care from its previous owners, other than Stickers n a 'Zorst.

List so far

Brakes all round, Rear wheel bearing - £120 from Euro
Steering Rack End - Grease monkey to source
Rear Tyre - £20 part worn
Cambelt,Aux Belt + Possible Dephaser Pulley
Full Service
Bonnet release handle/cable - £23 from Ebay
Standard exhaust - £60 for a cheapy reproduction
Standard rear lights - £24 from RenaultSpares
Standard airbox
Battery
Alloy Refurb

As I'm not exactly flush I'm spreading the work over this month and the start of next. Its booked in on Thursday for the Brakes, Bearing,Tyre, and Exhaust. As you can see I've been buying parts already, The rear lights should turn up tomorrow and be fitted asap as the lexarse ones are s**te. I've re soldered one already due to the joints being crap, now the other ones fecked. Luckily its been parked up and only moved for a check up and a de-sticker since I acquired it. Anyway, Here's pictures.

Its in the garage waiting on a steering rack end to go on since I forgot to put it on yesterdays list with the brakes etc, Lights will go on tonight, and bonnet catch when I can be arsed fiddling about, We managed to free up the old catch with some WD40 which meant it at least locked on correctly.

Talking to the Grease Monkey last night and apparently who ever last had the wheels off managed to put in varying length bolts and bugger the thread on the hub up. Lovely..

Blew the rad hoses last month, £270ish gone.
Hub got replaced too

Onto this weeks latest though. I got the wheels sorted out. 4 with buckles, 1 had a small crack. All been professionally straightened and welded, topped off with a powder coat of silver. Drives so much better!

  172 Cup
If you're up to £2270 now, wouldn't have been easier to buy one with FSH etc? It'll still be a nightmare to shift on in future with history..

  172 Cup
I think I saw this one for sale when I was looking to buy my cup. Didn't fancy all the work that it needed to rescue it from the previous owners insanity though. But you seem to have done a nice job of it (y)
