shud be around 150bhp if set up correctly.mite up it to 16psi if im feeling dangerous but i dont really wanna go to overbored with it.its stripped out at the moment aswell.got a new turbo to put on it aswell

if you want mega power then get a bigger, front mounted intercooler. That one looks rather small to me.

Obviously if the air temp is ok then its fine but itd be a good add on if the air is hot right now

150 bhp?

Was it worth the effort?
it cost me enough just sorting the engine out and having it put in.il start spending more on the engine in about a month and hopefully hit 200bhp.thats my target anyway.there a cheap engine to tune and you get maximum power.(but with bad reliability:confused:)

iv been told that the fuel pump needs to be changed as i will find it hard to set up the fueling properly with the rt one.there is a company that make a direct replacement one which is suppose to be spot on.the engine has been plumbed in properly.its really messy at the mmoment but im gunna be tidying it up soon.there is alot of work 2day and i need my carb setting up too.all i did was turn around in a street on full lock and pop!...out comes the driveshaft.was a knightmare!still not fixed, some1 going over to where my car is to pick it up on a flatbed.

Very nice mate,
but I think there should be a ally header tank just to finish it off!!!!;) ;) IMO

i think if you spend a bit of money on engine dressing and tidy it up , the engine bays look cool!people think they are really complected when you look at them but they are really simple.

Whats the Weight diff between the GTT lump and the Willy 2.0L? Same bhp, but does the GTT weigh a lot less meaning better performace figures?

i think the gt turbo lump is alot lighter than the willaims engine as its only a 1.4.the gtt engine is really good for accelration aswell...they are really fast off the mark

dont forget that it WILL have over 150 ft bl of torque aswell :) trust me it will be quick.

a standard gtt will keep up with 172s at 15 psi you out accelrate one easy.

if you wanna go over 16psi i would recommend water injection and a bigger turbo.

full t25 would be good (.49 comp housing and .49 exhaust) would suit lovely.

200 bhp is fairly easy to achieve. ;) need to run about 21 - 22 psi on a good setup.

As for your fuel pump GFS car parts sell the pump you need. if you wanna do it on the cheap get a used one of a Escort RST thats up to the job.

aprently there is a company called sytec or syntec or summing and they sell the pump i need.i was contemplating getting a t25 but iv heard the power only kicks in at about 4000rpm.some1 has been telling me about these turbos called "vnt" and they are suppose to be mental....some1 did a 13.2 q/mile witha standard gtt engine with a vnt.thats crazy.

The VNT turbo is still very experimental a few people have got them to work fine, but they are VERY expensive looking at £1000+

A T25 is a good match between power and LAG, it will start boosting up at around 3500.

K-tec racing and BB tuning also do the fuel pump your after. have a look on there websites.

P.S Your pipework from your AEI to your carb and acutator looks strange. its hard to tell from a picture tho.

  300bhp MR2 Turbo

Arent the VNT turbos from the diesel world?

They boost from very low down or something IIRC.

Dont forget that the GTT engines are rapido upto 100mphish then fade off. Thats where displacement takes over. Not the greatest for motorway mayhem. But then we "shouldnt" drive that fast any way.

  williams 2 turbo

fuel pump isnt going to be up to it trust me. if you stick it on the rollers it will run lean on full boost. i had to replace my 16v pump for a subaru one as it was running out of fuel. it may run the same pressure, but not the same fuel rate, as we found out!, p.s. ive got a big t25/t28 for sale if you want a big turbo.

the 1.4rt pump pushes more than a gtt pump standard, its 3.5 bar i think where as the gtt is 3.4 bar, and also flows more...

it powers my 1.7turbo fine, and its fueling more than enuff at 15psi, and thats on carb...

as jay said vnt is great but no 1 has done massive mileage on 1 yet to say how they get on, yeh they are of diesels... have a set of vanes inside that are closed at low rpm/low boost, as the boost is built up they open and give a give the effect of a t34 turbo... u get pretty much NO lag, but they are designed for diesels ... and not really tested on petrol cars well not for everyday use and over lots of miles...

mine ran a 1.4RT fuel pump and it was fine, it never pinked or anything nasty like that

your engine looks like its further back in the bay than mine was ?........my carb to intercooler pipe was a lot straighter than yours is

also what drive shafts and gearbox are you using ?.......if your using the GTT box you need CLio 16v shafts, mine never popped out, ever

why is the battery tray still in ?

im sure your happy with it though, like a rocket off the mark, im finding the valver is faster after legal speeds, but the GTT was definitely quicker 0-60, easily

Maybe this is why he popped a driveshaft out?? driveshaft not lined up right?

the battery tray is still there becuase im using the 1.4rt box and drviesahfts and the battery tray doubles up as the gearbox mount so i cudnt remove it.looks nasty needs to make up some shiney plates to cover it:Dthe engine is sitting very far back.people that did it havnt done the "best" at mounting it.well hopefully it will be set up for 15-16psi soon.not massive boost but it will do for now till i can afford to upgrade.
