Hi all, just thought I'd post some pics, I bought the dci extreme in may, but really wanted a 172/82 but the economy of the dci swayed me. So thought hell, why not have the best of both worlds.

So here it starts lol.... Pics from original ebay listing.

Since then I've managed to source full 172 kit with 182 wheels, repainted the car and changed the silver 182 wheels to anthracite, and got a donor car for full interior etc. well most people would think ah job well done, not me lol. I've changed my mind again and now going to respray it in jaune Sirius/liquid yellow. Figured it'll be a completely one off dci in that colour. I started the n/s door shut to tonight and am hoping to get most if it done by the weekend.

Oh, I'm tempted to do the roof and cup spoiler a different colour, maybe black gold or something? Any suggestions? Thanks

this should be good :) Cant wait to see how it turns out mate, you should do the bits of trim (grille, rear bumper insert etc in black gold to match the spoiler and roof ;))

could also toy with the bonnet being black gold... but not sure on that tbh

i must admit I was thinking whether to do something with all the grilles etc.. Might paint one up when I'm doing the roof, and if it don't look too good can always go back yellow again.

tbh aslong as you did the upper and lower grilles, and fog surrounds they would look epic, you wouldn't want to colour code those :)

only thing really i would toy with would be the bonnet (whether it is too much or not...) so probably do that last after everything else

yeah I've got a spare bonnet anyways so might paint one black and see which looks best :p

I reckon it would look less chav if you kept it all one colour IMO. Nice and OEM perhaps some 182 cup wheels or Turinis?

Also FairPlay for going full hog and getting it sprayed!

Yeah I got the 182 cup alloys already on there. I might paint the roof black and if I don't like it paint it yellow. Luckily I can paint it all myself as I'm a painter hehe

Managed to get the drivers side shut done tonight, tomorrow I'm going to get everything stripped and rubbed down. Hopefully get it all painted up Saturday :p

Looks awesome. Please don't ruin it by painting the bonnet/roof a different colour. Keep it OEM as possible.

Yeah I'll probably paint the roof yellow then. Going to strip all the bits off tonight and try and get it ready to paint tomorrow. Thanks for everyone's thoughts so far ;)

And finished job after applying 3 coats of pearl and lacquer. I ran out of paint hence why I haven't done the roof.

thanks all, for the moment ive had to leave the roof, bonnet and spoiler the original colour as ive ran out of paint which is a massive shame :( (I ordered it in solvent basecoat because its cheaper and in work all we have is water base, and you cant mix the two lol) but ive built it all up now, and painted the dci moulding ends silver, and also flatted the headdlights and laquered them with a tiny hardly noticable bit of black in the clear. they look like a brand new pair! anyway, i got a shot of it almost built, with the mrs screwing the rear no plate on.

sorry about bad picture. hopefully should have it completely finished by next weekend, so when its all painted and polished ill get some real good pics.
