My engine is knackered!!

the dreaded thing has happened to my car, the cam belt skipped 3 teeth on the bottom pulley. Now i have loads of bent valves. Absoloutly gutted!! its gonna cost me bout a grange to fix!!! does any 1 know if its worth while getting a new performance head for it? if so where from?

i dont think i can afford a new engine, mine has only 30k on it, the bill will be about a grand which included all new valves, cam kit etc, n labour. wot you reckon to this price?

OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE CAM SEAL WHICH DRIPPED ALL OVER THE BELT, ITS A 2000 MODEL. iM SO PIST OFF, JUST GOT A PRICE FOR POLISHIN AND PORTING MY HEAD, 450 FROM CYLINDER HEAD DEVELOPMENTS, RECKONS IT WILL GIVE ME 15BHP. wISH I COULD AFFORD THAT

the 172's seem to have a fair few cambelt related problems,nick at hillpower had a 172 cup in not very long ago and the tensioner had failed at 36k,if you wanted to modify the engine now would be the best time
