My keyfob went in the washing machine!!!

  1998 BMW e46 323i
Was copper slip/greasing my squeaky brakes on saturday (which almost completely worked :dapprove:), got my jeans a bit dirty. Came in the flat, had a beer and popped the jeans in the wash.

Searching around for my key, couldn't find it. Used the spare and crossed my fingers it wasn't in my jeans pocket.

It bl00dy was. Came out working too! Took it apart and wd-40'd it to death.

But hey, renault do make some stuff that's bullet proof.... Who'd have thought it

lol, they are meant to be dust-proof so I guess they will have a limited IP rating but I wouldn't want to try it out! ;)

I did it to mine, when I tried to start the car when it was still wet (The light flashed so I assumed it was fine) The immobilisor went spazzy!

it's worked bang on all day. Renault probably out-source keyfob production to a factory in Japan!

count your lucky stars because had it goosed it you'd be looking at £100~ to replace a washed key! lol!
