My latest purchase - RB 182

So my latest purchase is this Racing Blue 182.

I went to purchase a Racing Blue in 2015, admittedly when they were worth a lot less than what they’re fetching now! But due to circumstances out of my control, I never ended up buying it.
Ended up purchasing a non cup Arctic blue 182 instead which I still have to this day 😁 even though it’s currently sat on my driveway needing a new engine… anyone selling an F4R?🤪

I’ll attach some pics of the RB.
Since I picked it up off a mate of mine, I’ve stuck some turinis on it, replaced the standard brakes with a Compbrake big brake kit, and added the factory opted comp stripes (each to their own I know! But I like them)

The question is… do I go full track car on it? Or keep it OEM+
It’d be interesting to hear peoples thought about the future prices of these… they’re starting to fetch some serious dollar 💵

Miss my 182 RB that I sold earlier this year, probably the best 182 I've had to date (7 total).

I'd personally recommend fitting a 330mm wheel, and a spacer to suit your preferred seating position. Then a set of aftermarket seats, or similar. I had Evo 8 seats in mine, mounted as low as possible.

They don't really need much more after that, just the seating position sorting. As you've already got a PMS shifter.

I agree 100% mate.

I have an OMP dished wheel in my other one… helps me a lot because I sit all the way back pretty much!

I’m also on the hunt for some champ-r buckets. They fit me extremely well 😁

Thanks mate! It’s been mapped at some point in the past but I’m thinking about taking it to EFI to get it re done after fitting some cams when I can 😁

Jan 2022 UPDATE

Hopefully everyone had a great Xmas and New Year!?

Some updates on the RB done over the Xmas period:
Painted the brakes to match the intake hose, I do love the orange. I think it works really well against the blue.
With help from the mrs of course ...

I also managed to pick up a standard set of 182 cup rims in semi decent condition without tyres for £60... BARGAIN!

Just needed to find some half decent rubber now, without spending a fortune.
(Have to remember these are winter wheels ONLY )

Took the car in for a full service at Wessex Newport.

Tw*ts didn't order the plugs, so rather than wait. I decided to do them myself.
Much easier (and cheaper!!)

Nice little coffee morning at the Barry Espresso Bar. Followed with a good hoon up the Bwlch, Brecon and some other cracking driving roads...

Following weekend, back up Brecon again.
Albeit, a very crap day as you can see.

I've got some plans coming up in the next few months.

I'm definitely taking off the PMS shifter. I love it to bits, but drives me insane as a daily driver with it rattling 24/7. Pushing my knee up against it to shut it up surely can't be good for the box! So it has to go and I'll re-fit a standard one.
I'm on the hunt for some decent 15's to replace the standard cup rims. Maybe 2118's?? I wan't to be different though...

Then... I am HOPEFULLY going to send it in for a full spray ready for the summer this year.
The body isn't that bad, but from trolley dents, a small bit of laquer peel, and some dying laquer. I think it deserves a new lease of life!

Me and a group of the lads went for a spin to Elan Valley today, hit some lovely driving roads.
The weather held off perfectly if you ignore the salty roads and the almost freezing temperatures

As always, never missed a beat. Hopefully don't jinx myself by saying that now!
