my mates got a new civic type-r

my reign as car king in the office has just ended. Being able to claim to have the fastest 4 seater for under £20k was great while it lasted (all of 3 days), but my mate has got himself a new ctr (revised 04 model). Which he informs me is 6.6 0-60

Ive got to admit its a damn nice motor inside and out, but having spent £5k more, I should hope so!

Looks like well be having a summer of much fun :)

Anyone know of a disused airfield close to wolverhampton we can have a raz round?

Youll keep up with him until 120 at least, thats when me and my bro bottled it!

The Cup does 0-60 in 6.5

Anyway get in with the in crowd and go get yourself a 182 Cup thats top of the pops atm.........

CTR......we ( in our 182s ) eat them for breakfast

where did you get that stat from? I want to tel everyone :)

Also are you saying Im not in the in crowd just cos I have a 172 cup? Thats not very welcoming now is it

stat is from evo mag, just check the back pages, cup is quicker to 60 and ctr is quicker to the ton but doubt you will notice it in real world.

Oh and stick to the group N rally car not the 182;)

Dont worry there is no 182 Cup*, he is wrong.

*yet.

why do all these car mags show such varying stats. Ive read everything from 6.2 to 6.9 0-60 times which is quite a difference.

Like most people, I like to know which cars I can beat (on paper anyway) but when there are such variences in the press you end up hoping that the your car will match the quickest time and thats the time you quote your mates etc. Just cant help thinking... in the back of my mind what can it really do?

TBH I know Im going on a bit, but I know out on the streets I will never be able to tell the difference to 1/100th second so it doesnt bother me to a great extent. I just wish I could rely on the figures quoted in each review.

V. Funny.

Hes had a bit of stick from the lads at work - more expensive, higher insurance, higher fuel consumption, slower etc (in a joking kinda way)

I will never mock the CTR as it is a fine piece of machinery. That v-tech engine is a beast at 8000rpm!
