my new 172 cup

  fabia vrs
hi all,

eventaully got my hands on a 172 cup, after wanting one for ages..picked it up last week, completely standard car but does have furry dice hanging from the rear view mirror.....

now I'm VW nut of old but new to the clio sence hence after some advise on what to upgrade. not into making the car look different or more blingy, I just want it to go, corner, brake better/faster/safer.......

your suggestions on what I should do would be appreicated....I have a grand to spend :)

first thoughts would be brakes, brembo HC disks, DS2500, goodridge hoses, £300 odd for that......

cheers

Maybe a new set of rubber is always a good idea. Ive recently put yoko pradas on mine (better than standard setup by far) look on ebay they seem to be really cheap on there...wouldnt bother with disks just upgrade pads to ebc redstuff...

Why would you fit yoko paradas in november if you want to go faster??

Id opt for brake upgrades you've listed, and spend the rest on some coilovers (might stretch you a bit!)

all,

thanks for your thoughts, tyres have plenty of tread at the moment, so can leave them for a while. as for coilovers, I guess H&Rs would be the way to go. had koni adjustables with eibach springs on a golf mk2 & that was a nce set-up. not too stiff but handled well. any thoughts on that?

cheers
