My new Cup53

Hello again

Just been on the phone to the Renault dealership re the delivery date of my new (pre-registered{hence a bargain}) Cup. Looks like it will be delivered within a week.(yeeeeeeehaaaaaaa!!!!)

Ok, this has probably been on the forum before but I need a definative list of accessories that come with the car? what to look out for when I pick it up ie booklets, fitted front splitters, keys etc...etc... Is the car supposed to come with a boot net? mats? Just to get this clear in my head when I pick it up!

Any replies would be most welcome

Cheers

B

I Got my CUP last week,it came with:

172 Cup badges ( fitted straight - is that a first? )
Splitter on the back seat ( still havent fitted it yet )
Locking wheel nuts.
Set of tools in the spare wheel compartment
2 cans of tyre foam
1 yrs road tax
2 sets of keys and fobs
Renault Clio handbook
Renault dealler network list
Maintenance service bookInstructions for the alarm
Certificate of alrm installation
warranty and services book
Radio / CD player instructions
Renault Assitance card
Renault International Security Register documents
A little black case to hold the above paper work

Luckily my car was fine, but when you get it dont do what I did and just jump in with a big grin on your face and go for a 50 mile drive! and then check it out after.

Take time to go around and check the car and the list above. I can gaurantee that as soon as youve taken delivery and signed for it Renault wont want to know about anything that is wrong or missing.

Oh, make sure the dealler fits your splitter as trying to get them to do it after youve taken delivery is a big problem and lots of hassle - take my word for it!

Enjoy - the wait is well woth it!

mo--, sorry mate were you asking how to fit the splitter?

Well after hitting a pheasant at 85, 90 at the weekend i now know how its fitted. 8 screws into the bottom of the bumper! I presume the holes are already there.

Thanks mo--, this helps a lot.

So how has the car been since you picked it up?? Any problems at all??

B

BobG, yep lots of probs but tbh the dealer has made good and fixed everything straight away under warranty, if it wasnt such good fun to drive i would have got rid by now, but its just so addictive..

probs..

new engine, gearbox and exaust mounts, as knocking under hard accel

new knock sensor

new engine wire loom

new throtle

car is 12,000mile now and is running great,....enjoy...

where r u based.

mo--

You stated in your first post that you picked the car up last week!

You surely havent had the car from new (12.000 miles!!) After how long/miles did these probs occur? Are they fixed easily?

I am up in Scotland, Stirling! Yourself??

B

sorry Bob iwas quoting RS Clio he posted that last week did a search for you and that was the best info for your Qs.

ive had the car from new, and all probs happened around 11000, im only Dunfermline so will def see you around...what colour you getting, any mods planned, make sure you come to the regional meetings have a look at http://www.renaultsport.netwww.renaultsport.net

Alright Mo

11.000 miles, sounds alright to me! Well I fancy getting either a K&N or Pipercross induction kit! although will not be doing to much untill the waranty is up. Have you done much to it?

Will def need to meet up for a burn one day, of course after I have driven her for a while. Get the car on Monday now, yeeeas!!!

B

Certainly will, been on the Scotish renaultsport site, looking forward to meeting up for a run. I am thro in Alloa at least twice a week, will see you about.

B

Sound mate. I am through Stirling almost everyday anyway, where about in Stir are you? Old man stays in Causewayhead.

Near the Pirnhall!

Easy access for both a good blast on the motorway or 10 mins to get to the roads out towards Aberfoyle for a real drive, absolutely magic!!!! Been up to the Dukes pass with my mates Elise, looking to see how the cup will perform!!!

Need to meet up once i get it!

B

Yeah mate. I know the road very well out that way (work in Balfron a few days a week).

Give me a yell when you get it.

Mac

Looking forward to seeing it on the road Bob, even more to you running it in & then well take them both up to Balfron.

I fancy the sounds of this Knockhill day, & am looking forward to hooking up with the rest of you Central Scot. Cup owners- Ive only ever seen another 1 or 2 & 2 of those work here!!!

Alright Dootchy

Well I get the car Mon night, a few long runs within the week. Should be up for a good run with a week or 2. Think I may very well pop to Knockhill as well, good few hours out!!

Will def be heading up towards Aberfoyle/ Balfron way for a blast very soon!!

Need to meet up, see how my car compares to yours sir!!!!

I think you should be breaking your waiting time down into sleeps & dinners still to go!! haha!!

I reckon theyll be neck & neck Bob, both standard so no reason why not.

Fully synt & new filter for me this payday methinks- Im not a fan of this 12000 mile interval p7sh- I mind the days when you had to drain all the bits of metal & cam lube out after 1500 miles, and I dont believe for a minute the frogs over in Dieppe stick them on a dyno before we get our hands on them.

Well 4 sleeps to go mate!

So I take it you will have a burn on the track then Dootchie!

I think you will to be honest!!

I think it would be rude not to mate- but that doesnt get told to the missus

"Na babes I wouldnt put our baby on a RACEtrack"

heh heh!! Free tyres & all to replace any that might get a tad worn!!
