My new motor (again)

Right,

As some of you would have probably seen my for sale thread recently for my Clio 172 Cup. It sold within 3 days of advertising it to Rob aka "FlamingMonkey" off here. I beleive he's chuffed with it.

To be honest i've really missed the turbo power and torque in my S14a...

So along with me trying to save money to move out (which isn't going to well lol  ) i've bought another turbo car but this one is a bit special imo. It may not be to some peoples tastes!!!

Nissan 300zx JAP IMPORT - 3.0 v6 twin turbo manual short wheel base slicktop.

Manual 5 speed
45,000 miles (reads around 77k kilometres iirc)
Red.
Air con
Very rare swb hardtop
2 seater
Bilstein lowered suspension
Blitz ecu
nismo two piece alloys
Adjustable lower tension rods
Goodyear eagle F1 tyres (all brand new :))
New cambelt/drivebelts/aux belts and service
Veilside 320kmh speedometer (this i'll be eventually changing for mph)
Kakimoto cat-back twin system
SPL type adjustable upper camber arms
Remote oil filter kit
10 months mot
6 months tax
1 years warranty

I can only describe it as absolutely immaculate inside and out. The bodywork is in stunning condition for its age and the interior is spotless.

The garage im buying it from is just down the road from Zedworld a big zed specialist and they sent it to them to do a det test and hook it up to their computer to make sure its running sweet. I've rang zedworld up seperately (without the garage im buying it from knowing) and asked them if its all in A1 condition and they said its running mint and id got a wicked car. Apparently they had to adjust one of the throttles as one was opening at a slightly different time to the other but its running perfectly now. He said it's making a bit more power than standard because of the basic mods but if I wanted to see a bigger increase then i'd have to fit an electronic boost controller like what I had on my S14a.

I will be picking the car up tomorrow.

Theres a couple of niggles i found with it but its a 1992 car so can be expected. But all of these niggles are being sorted out. Rear wheel bearing, noisy pulley tightened up (done).

Its pretty rare, swb, hardtop means it handles better and weighs less than the 2+2's TT you usually see.

And the best thing is... i'm insured with a company called MCE and ive been ringing around LOADS of companys for insurance who want around £1500 TPFT on a jap import. I'm 22 with 1 years no claims!

MCE have done me the car fully comp for £1100 (£350 excess) which was the same as my clio cup. I'm speechless on that side of things, incredible deal.

Standard Specs

Engine: Twin-turbocharged DOHC, 3.0 liter, 24 valve, V6 Twin Turbo
Bhp: 300bhp @ 6400rpm
Torque: 283lb.-ft. @ 3600
Top Speed: 165 mph+
0-60: 5.5 sec
1/4 Mile: 13.9 sec at 102 mph

  RB 182 with CUP packs
Looks very clean :)

Can't tell from those pics, but is there that much difference in length between the SWB & the norm?

  No more clio's for me!
Love it mate - right decision imo. :approve:

The S14a was so so mint, i'm not surprised you've come back to jap! lol ;)

Enjoy it matey...get on www.wjpc.co.uk - already put a post up for ya! ;)

be prepared for massive running costs and repair bills when things go wrong.

Nightmare motors, but fast.

lol @ medallion. Yea cup was too slow after having the s14a. I went to a west mids rolling road day and had the cup rolling roaded as std to make sure it wasn't under-power as it felt so slow compared to the 200sx. It still made 174bhp which was over power whilst some cups were making around 169-172bhp with exhausts and filters.

There are some real nails out there (300zx's) so i've had to be quite careful with what i'm buying. By the looks of things this one has been driven as a weekend car or summer car as it's only done 45k miles and had been very well looked after.

Or maybe the clocks have just been turned back! ;)

  Turbos.
If you squint the side photo looks very much like a 350z! I think they do look a bit dated though.

That is an amazing insurance quote you got there fella. Are MCE Jap specialists?

They do like jap cars but I had my clio cup insured with them so they cater for all cars. They are a brokers like greenlight are.

I had a quote off MCE for my cup for £2k. So I rang up other companies and the best quote I got was with Admiral for £1.1k on my cup (which I didn't tell MCE was a 10month bonus accelerator not a full 12 month contract).

MCE matched the price for a 12 month policy, gave me free breakdown cover and a lower excess price. Can't complain really.

Awesome Chris :)

Bet you cant wait to pick it up. Looks stunning in red, same colour as my cousins but his is pretty stock compared to that beast.

Warranty is a huge bonus. Like you say, I bet it feels like Christmas day :approve:

Enjoy it, and look after it, they are animals underneath all that glitzy jazz on the exterior ;)
