My photo's from the 2014 BTCC at Brands Hatch

So, Brands Hatch kicked off the 2014 season yesterday and I went along with my new lens.

Awesome day out - was extremely busy! I've never been to Brands Hatch before and I didn't realise how short the circuit actually is. I found it awkward / annoying that pretty much every part of the track had high protective barriers (obviously not ideal for photography) - So I started the day in the centre of the track as there wan't as much barrier as other parts, then after lunch went in the Hailwoods Grandstand for the afternoon races which was a lot better.

I thought I share some of the images I did managed to get that were 'okay' - I am really disappointed with the majority of them as there were so many that were out of focus

had a look at yours to niall, a few crackers, how do you manage to get them so good down at 1/30? mines always end up blurry

Thank you - these were all taken on a Nikon D3000 with a Tamron 70-300mm lens (except for the Porsche in the pits which was taken on 18-55)

Cheers. Just panning basically, the hit rate isn’t great, I’d say maybe 1 in 10 photos came out sharp, but it’s worth it for the final result

I'd say mine was pretty similar - was disappointed to see how many weren't very sharp.

Did you find the circuit awkward Niall? There were so many safety barriers - Especially compared to Snetterton when I went last year.

There were an awful lot of barriers compared to what I’m used to, my local circuit Oulton Park has hardly any large barriers being more open with more run off etc, so yeah. There were a few places that you could work around it, but you’d need media passes to really make best use of the place.

might practice low shutter speed panning next, my basic panning its not bad
