My Rant at how s**t Reanult dealers are

Hello, ok i am realy pissed off as to how s**t reanult dealers are, ive just bought a car from them (03 1.6 dynamique billabong) anyway i bought it on a saturday (the 3rd of september to be exact) anyway they said it would be ready on monday the 11th because they are waiting for the log book to come through.

So here i am wednesday the 13th andstill nothing, at this point im gettin grealy pissed off as ive taken 3 days off work to sort it out and i have taken money out of my bank which now im loosing intrest on it. Worst part is, i rang them today, aparently the car doesn't have a log book or some s**t so DVLA have to make a new one which is gonna take up to 6 weeks!!!!! so yer im pissed off cos the t**t at reanult didnt tell me abou this and obviously i want my new car. Anyway thats that off my chest maybe ill feel bit calmer now.

but i realy realy like this one, i was trying to fin done for ages and havnt been able to lol!!! tempted to cancel it and save for a 172. hmmmmm

If it's an 03 plate and they've lost the log book then I'd be tempted to walk away anyway mate. Future resale value will be affected if nothing else.

I'd at least talk to the manager of the dealership about cancelling and see what they throw in to keep you...

Surely if you bought it from a dealer they can give you an equivelent courtesy car as a goodwill gesture until your car is ready? If not, cancel and go elsewhere, plenty of Clios around so they hold no bargaining chips!!

The DVLA said theres no record on their system for the car to be dodgy.

How about this for service:

My friend had her bag\keys stolen and she didnt have a replacement. The car was picked up and towed to a renault garage by RAC and she ordered new keys from renault as she was told this is the easiest way of solving the prob. £170 later the keys arrived and she drove back to where the car was (3hrs drive away) to try the keys. The doors opened... the key wouldnt turn in the ignition! Renault say she needs a new ignition barrel so they ask whether she wants the standard or advanced one. Standard meaning that she would need a diff key for ignition. As its a boggy standard Y plate 1.2 or something she just went for the standard which still cost 350 or so. Renault call about a week later saying that they have fitted the ignition but it doesnt work and she will need to get the advanced one or a new ECU!! bear in mind that renault wanted her to pay for both ignition barrels even though the first one didnt work. The new ECU was the cheaper option so she went for that. Finally she has her car back after about 3-4 weeks of messing around and various wasted round trips to sort things out on the car.

Fighting your corner doesnt get you anywhere with renault as you'll see with a quick search of the forum. It made me laugh to see that even watchdog got shrugged off with a crappy answer and no refunds! Hopefully, in my friends case; she will receive a refund as the guy who stole the keys has gone to court and pleaded guilty. She had to fill in an expenses sheet etc so there's hope yet!

Perch, cancel your order. I know a 1.6 Dynamique is fairly rare, but there are plenty of 1.4's out there. 12bhp is hardly worth all the hassle you seem to have had.

My mum took her 1.4 dynamique in for a new coil pack and it came back a week later!.. filthy and the Clutch and brakes were absolutely shot to pieces

Hi Everybody

It seems that Renault dealers all over the world are sh*t. I bought a 182 cup just over a year ago. I have had my gearbox changed 4 times now and have been without my car for a period of 20 days everytime that happens. I bought it and drove it of the showroom as a demo and immediatly there was a problem, they gave me my old 1.6 sport back to drive while I just bought a 182 cup. I was without my "new" car for two weeks before they gave it back to me and it has been ongoing eversince.
