Need HELP with CD/DVD drive.

05 Plate MG ZR 105 Trophy
Right well I went to put a music disk in the CD/DVD drive today and noticed that when I go on "My Computer" the CD/DVD drive is not there?.

I have gone into the "Device Manager" and noticed that the CD/DVD drive has got yellow marks at the side of it. I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall and even tried to update the driver with no luck (it just says that its up to date).

Is there anything else that I can do to try and get it working?.

When you uninstalled the drive in device manager , did you boot it up or did you try to reinstall the drive first ?

Uninstall in device manager then boot it up .

Have you just installed any new software , like nero etc ...... ??

Same writer as me . But you will need an 40pin 80 wire ide cable to run a pioneer writer . Only a couple of quid though .

Max. 16x writing speed for DVD-R/+R (It is required to use a cable corresponding to U-ATA66 (80-wire conductor cable)

I've just bought the Pioneer 111D for £25.

Only reason for buying it was that i thought my old one (pioneer 105) was knackered because Nero stopped recognising it.

It turns out that its not recognising this one either, not for writing anyway.

Nero will read from it, but when you go to write the only recorder it gives you the option of using is 'image recorder'. So basically you can copy to a folder on your HD but not to a disc in the writer.

Anyone else had this problem?
