Need new tyre for my cup!!!

I was washing my car the other night and saw a nail in my new clio 172 cups offside rear tyre. The tyre was completely unworn being at the rear so i was hoping to get it repaired instead of forking out for a new one. The nail was tiny and about an inch from the edge of the tire with no visible signs of air escaping.

So off i went to kwik fit and the guy said they cannot repair the tyre and im going to have to fork out £83 for a new Continental ContiSports Contact 195/45 R16 tyre!!!!!

Has anyone heard of a better price for new tyres or if it could be repaired safely. Or has anyone got that tyre for much cheaper and where from?

Just looked on http://www.mytyres.co.ukwww.mytyres.co.uk and you can get one of those tyres for £57.80 which includes postage and packaging.

Cheers mate i thought £83 plus fitting and balancing was a bit on the steep side!

If youve got a Chemix near you they will always try to match any genuine quote........or one not so genuine if you know what I mean.

Ive paid as little as £58 quid a tyre in the past, I normally take Mytyres price and add a couple of quid on for fitting.
