Network problem.



  Fiat Panda 100hp
I have a cable modem and 2 PCs and a router.

For some reason the 2 computers wont share internet. I have linked it together as so.

Internet >> Modem >> Router >> 2 cables out of router to two PCSs.

I can ping the other pc from my desktop.

But no joy with the internet, the IPs are the same bar the last 3 digits and both the subnet mask and the default gateway are the same.

If you haven't already, try entering the Domain Name Servers (DNS) into your modem config, there's usually 2 of them.

If you don't know what they are then check out the blurb on your ISP's website, they should be listed somewhere.

Also, if you have a firewall on the pc that cannot connect then disable it totally to make sure that's not causing the problem.
