Guess il start a the beginning then. Bought it from a nice chap in Croydon just over a year and a half ago. I knew he had used it on track a couple of times, it had some black alloys and a CAF but he put it all back to standard bar the acoustic valve. Was the first Clio i had looked at and fell in love with it straight away, didnt test drive it as i had gone out the night before and ended up chucking up on myself :dead:, so i left it in the capable hands of my dad to tell me what it was like even though he didn't take it over 4000rpm. A deal was done the same day and 3 days later it was mine.
This is the picture that got featured in Performance French cars for a cliosport.net 'shoutout'.
One day when V-Power was cheep i was out for a quick drive, following a DB7 i put my foot down to catch up and my car decided it wanted to blow a hole in the CAT just were it joins on to the centre section of the exhaust. After 2 months of me and my mate trying to find out what the high pitched whistle was we found it to be the CAT/exhaust hole so it was down to Ktec for there ultra performance system without the centre silencer and 2 weeks later back down for there sport CAT.
After spending some monies on colour coded bullets, tow eye and a 3/4 plate the car looked like this
Then i got the turini bug and decided i needed some in white, so a 4 hour trip up to Lincoln later i had a set thanks to whiteley. The tyres that were on there were not good as i found out one night on a roundabout. They were refurbished by the Wheel Specialist in Fareham and were on the car for all of about 3 weeks.
Around this time i got a PM from Tim (atouba) about autocar wanting a standard 182 cup to be featured in there magazine.http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=474859
I emailed matt saying i was free whenever and would be more than happy too help. So with after one cancled day because of the snow we all had, me and the old man set off for Bruntingthorpe . I did a quick write up on the day in the post. And after what seemed like an eternity the feature was finally in the mags 'Half-Priced Heros' special.
After a few months the turinis went back on with some decent tyres this time, and have been cleaning them ever since :dead:
Over the past week after work iv been treating the engine to a bit of love and attention, with quite alot inspiration from -J- i have been polishing the inlets (still need a bit of sanding and polishing) and painted the top of the manifold, got hold of a carbon cover from ktec and a 16v 2.0L sticker from Ady182 and have just fitted it, up next for the bay is a CDA carbon airbox as the original is falling apart and is just sat in there without any fixings holding it down (don't know were they escaped to).

So that's it for now, I know this seems more like a write up on what iv done to the car so far but trust me it will get updated when there's something new to show. The plan for it is for me to still use it as a day to day car but to also use it on track, im going to be booking the renaultsport track day at Silverstone soon for the 4th of august and have already spoken to a few people on what to expect from the day and im quite excited about it. I hope to have at least 2 days under my belt by the end of the year. And if my mate sorts his stag weekend out we hopefully will be going to the nurburgring next year.
