New 182 owner - a few questions!!!

Hello people!
I have brought myself a 182 - finally! After looking for a few months i found a lovely one for sale round the corner from me! 54plate 32k in silver (would have prefered black - but hey beggers cant be choosers!!)

Anyway just a few questions - they maybe dumb i know but I am a girl so what do you expect!!

* Not sure if the car has any cup packs, what are the cup packs?????????

* Is it a good idea to put on an air filter???????

Hi, welcome.

There were two cup packs, the cup splitter and spoiler, and the wheels and suspension.

the splitter is just a plastic band that goes round the bottom of the front bumper

Your car will already have an air filter, but putting on an induction kit or panel filter won't really do much alone other than make noise. If your after performance gains you'll want an induction kit, free(er)flowing exhaust and remap

Hello and welcome! Cup packs! Spoiler pack will be bigger rear spoiler and front splitter i think, and suspension packs give you the darker alloys and lower stiffer ride!

Cup packs on the 182 are suspension tweeks visual by darker coloured alloys,splitter and spoiler.

An air filter will free up the engine a little and add some noise to the sound of the engine, many choices to choose from, panel filter being the cheapest going up to an enclosed filter like a viper etc.
Might also be worth looking at the exhaust cos they tend to fall apart like mine.

Thanks for your replies, mine has the spliter/spoiler pack then but doesnt have the darker alloys/suspension pack, oh well 1 out of 2 aint bad! Think I might try a k&n or pipercross, not really after too much of a loud sound just want something suttle that will help it breath a bit better lol As for the exhaust and remap tuning, its not on the top of my agenda but would be nice to do one day in the near future, once i hav saved up some pennies again!!

ITG Air filter all the way. If not that then the BMC CDA but thats pricey.

Oh and the only proper way to tell if the car does or doesn't have cup packs is to check the hub spacing.
