New Brakes...

  Focus RS + S3
sorry to hijack,

i know the majority of CS have the ds2500 and the brembo HC discs.
i have been told by a friend that they squeel like pigs and need some heat in them to work properly. anyone with similar experience ?

Unacceptable!! How dare you go off topic on my thread!.....Just kidding..If there is a problem with them, better to know before i buy them, cheers Hodgins. Wasnt looking at a big brake conversion or anything just some uprated breaks. How much are the Brembo max disks and federo ds2500 pads tom

Thanks

First few pedal presses have much reduced braking power I find, but it passed an MOT and I can't see them warming up the pads.

found a link you put up jenic a while ago http://www.readyforthetrack.co.uk/2...-clio-172-and-182-brake-discs-lines-and-pads/

very good info :)

Quite simply we would recommend the Ferodo DS2500 brake package (includes Brembo HC discs, brake lines and Ferodo DS2500 pads) for a road / occasional track package. The Ferodo pad is designed to be a race pad, and we would always remind customers that it is a sold as such – a race pad. If you research on the Internet clubs and forums you will find many people using these as a fast road pad, despite it being designed as a race pad. You use this pad entirely at your own risk on the road.

brembo max are too expensive. HC are the ones with the better value. ds performance pads should be a good upgrade, and not as expensive as ds 2500.

  Not a 320d
My old 1.2 brakes were pretty good actually and i gave it some welly lol.

my Gt brakes are a shambles though. Like, actually piss poor. Going for brembo standards and Mintex 1144 pads on mine.

I'm running Ferodo DS2500's and Brembo HC's, albeit with Wilwood calipers, but they work great together; would recommend that disc/pad combination :)

Brembo HC's are great value too imo!

too expensive and will need a more aggressive pad as those grooves chew on most pads. why pay extra 50 just on some grooves? I was thinking about these discs also but eventually bought the brembo HC, plenty of people here are runnin' these with good feedback

Oh right cheers...where can I buy them from and what pads would you recommend running with these

but they are trackday or fast road pad, unless you're planning to hammer it from time to time I suggest buying something cheaper. ds 2500 are about 110-120. Ds performance about 90. mintex even cheaper. EBC-they crack as I've seen

prices above are for the 172/182 rs models. forgot you got a 1.2. there is a 285 mm disc brake kit at k-tec which seems a good deal if you are about to make an improvement. otherwise go for some uprated pads (plenty of threads about this), they should be cheaper than the 172/182 ones
cheers!

Thanks for all the help!!! On the Bremboshop the discs they are quoting for 1.2's arent HC's...are these ones still good?

All you need for a 1.2 is some Ferodo pads and that's plenty of braking power, don't spend money where it isn't needed.
