New clio 172 tomorrow

Guys this is my first ever post so first of all, my names Gary, and im looking to buy a clio 172 tomorrow and can not wait!

the guy has said the he's serviced the car himself over the last 5 years, which is fair enough.
its on 55k and tells me he's had the cambelt replaced but obviously no proof of this.
Im wondering if there is any way of me checking if this is right or not, visually?
I doubt it but its worth checking, and if not then how much do they generally cost to get done.

Unfortunately there is no way of checking, cambelt price change is around the £500 Mark off the top of my head. There are a lot of 172's out there for good prices that have had all the work done with proof so I wouldn't rush into anything. Good luck finding a car!

To be honest fella- the chances of the guy trying to rip you off is high- ( im not saying everyone is a liar)

I would find one with FSH & a proper invoice for cambelt- if you buy that one & it snaps your up Sh*t creak & If the dephaser is on the way out its another £600 job-

buy one that has had it recent or get one that hasnt had it done & budget out £600 beer tokens

as above no way to check, cambelt change is around the £600 mark from a dealers, specialists start around £450 i think?
