all went very well, except the shitty Ferodo DS pads which didnt fit properly and i have to get the bench grinder out to file the edges to get them to fit.

there was a good 1-1.5mm needed to be removed, not impressed.

also painted the calipers whilst i was there

Yep, I made your mistake previously with Pagid Blues. Fitted DS2500 a few weeks back and without the squeal plates they slot in with no fuss.

Looks good Andy :)

I took out my shims and needed to file down the edges of the backing plates too when fitting my DS2500's - good combo though :)

my dad has an 08 plate none sporty 1.9 Audi A3 diesel and the brakes are amazing. they have some serious stopping power.

yet when i get into my clio the brakes are dull and have no stopping power.

once bedded in these better be good.

Have you tried new brake fluid? That made a difference to mine. But yeah i agree, standard 182 brakes = :dead:

Give them time, hopefully they'll bed in well. Have you not fitted braided lines? Great mod!

no ive not, seems alot of work to be honest.

what would i gain from braided lines?

Gives the brakes quicker response and more "bite" or something like that - I could be wrong though

AFAIK it replaces standard rubber hoses that would expand under heavy braking with braided lines that won't expand. Therefore more pressure is being applied to the brakes rather than being wasted in the expansion of the rubber lines.

Should give a firmer, sharper pedal feel and improve braking.

Mixed reviews on fitting them - some say wee buns, but someone told me a few weeks ago they'd rather castrate themselves

lines arn't hard to fit mate, i you can use a spanner you can fit them (or get birchdown to do it like i did )
It would be like doing half a job if you don't fit them!

Just don't ruin the brake union things (or whatever they're called) as you'll have to go out and buy a tool to flare the pipes and join them to the calipers... or whatever it is that goes wrong, I can't remember technical terms now lol
