New Front Pads 182

  Arctic Blue 182
Hi all,

Some quick advice on what i shoul replace my front break pads with on my o4 plate 182.

I drive it kinda hard but no track days. So in short im just thinking of replacing them with the standard Renault ones but im looking for the cheapest and the best Renault want £42.41 plus vat for 4 pads.

Can anyone suggest a better alternative and any links to sites would be good too? :)

You missed off

Ultimax brake pads have been chosen for all our brake kits as they perform exceptionally well, even from cold, are very resilient to pad glazing, have a very slow wear rate and produce very little brake dust.
For fitment to all 172/Cup and 182/Cup/Trophy

ULTIMAX BRAKE PADS (FRONT)
Price: £25.00+vat (28.75) Set

Where do we get these from?

Has anyone else tried them?

Anything better than the OE has to be worth a look as they are very good IMO

Yeah looked at those but wondered about the price. Probably going to be ok as Ktech use them in their kits. Have found some cheap greenstuff on Ebay so have decided to give them a try.

Cheers for the help all, will post up how I find they compare to the standard breaks once they have bedded in!

Anyone thought of doing a Poll similar to the tyre one for Pads and Discs ect??

i replaced the oe with the std mintex ones which were ok until a spirted B road blast faded them without any warning, i went for the mintex m1144 which are track pads and find them very good. for what your after though for road use what about the mintex m1155 i think they are a fast road pad?

i got my std mintex from german swedish and french worth calling them as they are quite cheap for some bits. if you ant decet fast road track pads freds offer above seems quite good.

I've got some omp pads off yb racing only 33quid, excellent quality even with 23.50 front discs:) and they're great from cold

Do you not have to tell the insurance if you replace anything with non OEM parts?

Performace pads would be top of the list of things checked if you have an off IMO.

nope

They didnt check mine at all. Brake pads are pretty much a consumable part on the car... no need to declare non standard pads IMO.

Nope but i'd not want to give them an excuse. With flux or HIC they don't care anyway. With direct line on the trophy(no claims held up on other cars), charged nothing to add brembo grooved discs & DS2500s, as well as 172 leather & alcantara bench & doorcards.

I probably didn't need to bother declaring any of it, but in the case of an accident i know it's fully insured and they have no way of wriggling out.
