New Honda Civic Type-R

Don't like the old one, definitely don't like the new one. Don't care about lap times, at all.

It's a shame as new cars I find offensive to look at usually grow on me. The type Rs haven't. Glad I don't have to look at any on the road either, rare as hens teeth, thank f**k.

As Kev said, it's a brand new model. Since the FK wasn't a global car, they saw fit to replace the FK with the new model since this one is global, like the Focus RS.
It just means that the FK2's value in the future's safe. I'm with Chris on that, I think they'll be hugely sought-after in ten years due to the relatively low numbers/short model life.
I love the way that the FK looks, but this new one just doesn't suit it with the saloon body IMO. It just looks awkward. At least the FK kinda looked like the touring car.

It's a cool car to go out with your mates in but you'd look a right c**t turning up for a first date in it.

If a Scottish 16 stone drunk pirate can manage to maraud firm 6's in a stripped out phase 1 with fixed buckets, you'll manage fine in that.

Last years looked mint, respect to honda for bringing out something that looks as mad as it does, this one will grow on me, cant wait to see one on the roads. They absolutely dominate with their presence

Hmmm I don't know. Surely that Fk model is literally going to die in value in under 12/18 months since main release.

Just mental but I get why they've done it. If I was an fk2 owner though.... Pissed would be an understatement future value or not!

I can't help but think of the iPhone when I read this.

They bring out a new model but a few months before they do they update the old one with some fancy colours, even though straight after, the new platform is out.

I like this an the FK2. I didn't like the latter at first in the pics until I saw one in the flesh and it swayed my mind.

I wasn't a fan of the FK2 until I saw one in the metal. Maybe this new one will be the same.

Seems like pretty good value. Only a minimal increase over the FK2

"Honda has confirmed the new Type R will start from £30,995 for the base version, rising to £32,995 for the GT following a similar range progression to the last car."

Ive never understood the type r starting at one price but for 2k more you can have the proper version, the GT
Why not just make the GT as one standard car.
Strange.
