New member - Need advise on Clio 197 Cam Belt Change

My 197 is coming upto 5 years old and 38,000 miles. I called Renault to book a service and was advised need a cam belt change as well. The cost of this before any service was going to be approx £800. Service cost which was approx £160 plus new sparks a set coming in at about £109 I think.

Any advise on what would be my best approach to bring down the cost. Also some of advise on what is involved in the cam belt change, and to stick with the dealer or go independent. Places to try out around the west midlands would be handy.

Go to a specialist instead, fred @ BTM is near you.

Will be cheaper, and the work will most likely be to a higher standard than a dealer.
