A combination of liking the new badge and the fact that mine resembled the shape of a banana - made me buy a new RS badge set for my 182.
Here's how it went....
Bendy, bendy - didn't look too bad looking down on it, but from the level, it was proper bent. I'm sure that if I threw it, it would come back to me.
Using a few lengths of dental floss, the badges came off easy - to reveal the wonderful crap underneath. :dead:
After cleaning that lot off, there was still a 'ghosting' on the paint of the original badge. Plus a few very stubborn pieces of sticky-back foam that were difficult to remove. Standard hand polishing with a bit of AG SRP simply wasn't good enough....
No worries. Out came the PC.
Attached to a 4" pad and a dab of Sonus SFX-1, it got rid of these left-overs in about 30 seconds flat. Bit of a blurry image, but it was spotless after that. Followed that up with a small amount of hand-applied AG SRP before the badges went on.
Next came the tricky bit. I spent a good few minutes with the badge set still in it's cardboard holder, lining it up to where I thought it should go. The new badging is considerably smaller than the old RS badge set. I initially lined it up with the Clio badge on the other side, but it just looked way too low and out of proportion. I raised it up slightly and stuck it firmly on.
The end results! :approve:
Well impressed with it! All that I need to do now is to clean the rest of the car as it's bloody filthy!!!
Thanks again to Christopher for sending the part number over and a big thanks to Chris 'n Nic for sorting the badge out for me in the first place. Cheers guys!
