Newbe Cliosport member - Need help selling my Trophy

Hi there

Used to be a full member a few years ago, well my ex-partner did. Now in a position to sell my Trophy however i don't know where to start or what to put to sell it. I really bought the car for him and he knew everything about it.

Anyway since the family has expanded I now need something more sensible

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do you have a folder full of receipts? Just make a catalogue of all the expensive stuff and stamps in the book.

Things to look out for are the dampers being serviced, the cam belt being replaced and general service history.

I have all the receipts from past services etc.... I know it has recently had the exhaust replaced plus we have had a full service at (i think it's called) BTM or BPM Performance (Clio sport specialists), it did have a belt change then, but not the dampers being serviced.

It did have a lot of work doing in the last service but my ex lost the receipt and i have tried to get hold of the place to request a duplicate or at least a record of what was done and they haven't replied

Apart from that she is in great condition, I even had someone spray some scratches etc...

BTM in Birmingham is one of the best places it could go. Its run by a guy called Fred who is on here loads and advertises here and if it went there give him a ring - he is a good bloke !

Mind you don't sell it too cheap! a nice Trophy goes for more than a regular 182.

Join "cliotrophy.co.uk" that is a dedicated forum for the Trophy and have a look at the Renaultsport Clioin the classifieds on the Pistonheads website you can refine the search to just show Trophy's that will give you a better idea of the value.

A refurb on the Sachs dampers can now be done cheaper using a company called Cornering Force so if its not been done its no real drama!

What's the current mileage and number of owners?

Best places to sell it will be on here, cliotrophy and or Pistonheads.......Don't eBay it!

Yes it was done at BTM in Birmingham, I'll give him a call and see if he can give me anymore information. I have just found the receipt for the place and spent just over £800 on a service.

I did have it on Pistonheads and the Auto Trader - no luck on either

It has just literally done 70,000 and it has had 3 previous owners. I have looked at others going around the same condition/milage and people are asking for £5,000 ??? I know I wouldn't get that for her

I'll see if I can give the Guy at BTM Performance a call to see exactly what was done then I'll be in a better position.

What did you have it up for Ellie? Give it a good clean and get some nice photo's and try it on cliotrophy! I'm guessing from your user name it's number 365 if so there is some history of it in the owners register on there as well which can only help..

I had it up for £5,000 but that was last year. Still got the photo's so could use them as it is still in the same condition.

I bought another and sold one last year! And it was slow September/October time but there were a few more about then! There's less around at present so try it again, list all the service dates and as much info as possible!......my old one sold through cliotrophy it went for close to the asking price but it took a while for the right person to call! They have quite a selective audience so be patient! Maybe try £4750 ono
