Newbie Again (Surrey/Berkshire Area)

  172 Cup 181bp 165lbf
Hello all,

Just joined up as I have just picked myself up a Clio 172 Cup (Pics to come after a full valet session on Saturday).

First impressions is I love it, but I'm sure the novety will soon wear off and I will probably start playing with it after the new year.

Few plans are:
Shocks & Springs,
Brakes,
Decat,
Exhaust (Stelth),
Remap,
Solid Engine mounts.
R888

Thats as far as I want to go really. Enough to get me on track by next summer. I should know the car then too.

As for the car, it is a 2002 model on 72,000 miles, it has had 1 owner from new and also used to be Renualts Demo car back in 2002 for Renualt in Reading. The service history/records is a true credit to the first owner and I would love to meet the previous owner and shack his hand for treating a car how it should be. I've only owned three cars but I have mates who change cars more than a nun changes her knickers, and as I said this history is outstanding. Every service was done well within limits (11k, 22k, 33k, 44k with cambelt, 55k, you get the drift) and all renualt stamps. Along with this he made a folder of all his MOTs and receipts, even for tyres, original brochure, buisness card of the dealer who sold him the car etc.

This was the main reason I bough a standard 172 Cup rather than a done up one as I can tell the owner cared for it and treated it well. But as I said before, I have minor plans for the little girl. Nothing too silly. And I've always enjoyed building rather than buying. I know whats been done and keeps me busy with a little project.

I know a few of people on ClioSport around the Staines/Chertsey area and hopefully will get to know a few more of you.

Chris
