OK folks, after my recent sway over whether to keep my valver (garage bills! ), ive decided ill be keeping it but im wondering what the next step is for getting more power is? At the moment its got stage 1 cams, chip, zorst, PBV and all the usual stuff but it aint enough so what would be best next?
P.S I dont want to go to 2.0ltr before anyone suggests it....
You could go for a 2ltr convertion? - sorry, had to say it.
If your sticking with your current setup then you only have 2 options i think? TBs / headwork. From what i gather headwork gives you a nice performance gain all over so maybe a few cams are in order? followed by gas flowed & ported head and manifold?
Of course - lowpressure turbo is always an option, not very good for bhp Vs £££ tho. Stay NA if i was you.
Headwork seems the best at the moment and maybe the manifold. As i said, ive already got mild cams (why i have the PBV) so maybe a more extreme profile could also be usefull. Im thinking of a turbo conversion but, as thats a few years off, im wanting the best gain possible in the meantime. I noticed that k-tec do power pistons but does anyone know what they would give me?
where exactly do you drive your cars?...I either run out of road or come across speed cameras, my valver is standard apart from kn panel filter...why do you want more?
Scotty16v - as 007 said i live in NE Scotland so very few cameras on the go!
By the suggestions here, i think the flowed head is going to be the next thing on the list then the manifold (though i heard the standard cast one is pretty good as is). I had the engine reconditioned a while ago and dont want to put out that amount of cash again.....
