No power steering!

Driving on the M4 yesterday when a nasty static noise occures (like scraping a plastic sheet on the floor), engine cuts, so i pull over on the hard shoulder, started it fine but it made the noise from the cambelt area when i increased revs, then i noticed powersteering fluid on the floor and lost my power steering.... I got home (200miles) no problems just heavy steering.

Now, havnt had a chance to get it on the ramp yet but what are people thoughts? Is the p/steering pump driven or is it electric?

ermm as far as i know they have a alt belt which does that plus air con and a seperate p/s belt

Yeah its belt driven mate, sounds like the pumps gone.

Find the leak , prob the pump or a pipe gone
