nonsport front bumper. Splitter attached?

Just got the new front bumper ready to be smoothed and what not. Thing is, I wanted to put a slightly smaller splitter on it (I hit EVERYTHING) checked the new bumper and the splitter seems to be built into it? I was expecting some hench staples or something but this doesn't seem like the case. If I was to put a fabia splitter on it would I have to actually cut the old one off first?
