Noob from North Wales

Hello!

My name is Luke, im 18, (about to turn 19).

I live in between Wrexham and Chester for any of you locals!

Ive been lurking on here for a while, but ive decided to take the plunge and I will be buying a 172 in a few months time so thought id best finally post!

Im an apprentice mechanic, and consider myself relativley handy on the spanners, but is there any major problems I should be looking for when viewing a 172?

I currently drive this,

You must live pritty close to me aswell. I live in rossett. engine mounts, clutch, exhaust mounts, wheel bearings, air con and electrical equipment are the usual things you want to check.

I live in Chester city centre! I have just upgraded from a 306 to a 172 cup. Its so much better and soooo much faster, you will love it! Look out for crash damage, I looked at a few in the area that looked a little suspisious?? Plus make sure the belts are done, or that the place you buy from will do them for you (will save you loads £££)!!

I am at uni at the mo, in leicester, but during the holidays when im back in chester i work over near frodsham driving JCB's. Where abouts do you work? There are some amazing roads round chester, can't wait to get back and go for some proper drives, i don't really know my way round leicestershire well enough to really enjoy the car while i'm at uni !!

Sounds good! But I won't have a 182 until the end of July, got to wait for my 2 years ncb to come through.

I was going to wait for my 3 years ncb but my pug died so had to get a new car and didn't see the point in buying something i didn't really want!!!
Have you had a look at anything yet?

just wait til you drive one for the 1st time, its so addictive. I have driven faster stuff but I didn't want the test drive to end the first time i had a go!
