Renewal was 745 quid going up to 804 (cos now need to pay monthly) - fort i might as well get other quotes but they all cam in over a grand and couldnt touch NU on price!
My dad had issues with NU after a car accident that wasn't his fault. His Megane was written off and they sent out a lower sum to what the accessor had valued the car at. Things were eventually sorted tho and this was just after their Indian call centres had been introduced so no doubt teething problems. NU also gave my dad compensation for his troubles and gave him a good renewal price.
Was going with NU but the RAC undercut them by about £50 for me. Their worth checking out if you haven't already.
Everyone else I tried wanted £1.4k+.
Payed £940, 18 1ncb.
I don't think much of NU because my dad was insured with them and since making a claim almost a year ago about a smashed window in France we've tried everything to get some money out of them and got nothing. Dad never wants to ring them up because of the f'in call centres being in India and can't get any sense out of them. He's now insured with Tesco and I don't think we will be using them again.
Also they quoted me £300 more than admiral who have given me the cheapest quote.
Sometimes it's worth going through an insurance broker with your car insurance as they will always do a full market exercise and find the cheapest and best cover for you. Also, when it comes to a claim they have to fight it on your behalf so you don't have to ring call centres in different countries and usually just speak to one person dedicated to your claim.
my cars policy only had 2 months left so when i passed i phoned up, declaired my wheels, suspension and induction kit, they wanted £17, yep only £17 extra for the mods (remember thats only 2 months tho) and £75 to add me at 17 whos just passed onto the insurance
My insurance policy has never got cheaper with the same insurer, hence I change company every year. I've been with Renault, DirectLine, Admiral, Elephant, Priviledge.
Privilege were the first company I tried as thats who I was with when I had a scoob. Ive managed to get my 182 to £450 now which Im struggling to beat.
