I'll edit the gopro vids and bang them up later. Was a really good day and great selection of cars, really worth the 25 quid to join up and gives you access to around 8 members days like this!

How many laps did you get in mate?

4 goes and 3 of them were doubles so 7 laps but they changed the formation a few times but it was really busy today as it was first members day.

I did have a moment when I heard a noise but I've realised it was when I was slowing down/feathering throttle and sounds like a pop in the exhaust haha

I got some footage so once I've trimmed it I'll up load it

  Megane r26
So first run has been edited and is live on YouTube. Concentrated on keeping it smooth but still carrying pace and just trying to take in what I had watched

I did get the odd pop sound which I'm certain came from the exhaust but I haven't been able to create it on the road as of yet.

  Megane r26
Regards the pop mate, my cup only does it on track when given a right pasting. Never done it on the road

Yeah you only really used 2nd and 3rd and 4th on the straight, it was just weird as I never heard it before and did cause me to back off on me second run tbh until I was sure what it was

Session was 8-12, now I'm meant to be getting ready for the Shelsley Walsh breakfast club if I can prize myself out of bed lol. Think I need a plan B!

Nah I feel alright mate, just cba driving to Shelsley Walsh at 7am for a car meet lol.

Might take the MTB over the Chase... What shift you on today?

  Megane r26
2nd video, little bit more pace although I did single the noise down to the pop from the exhaust so did back off a tad but cant wait to get back there again!

I have found the car a little more tricky to drive since mapping as traction in 2nd is questionable!

So Adam posted how he had managed to get his hands on some more r26r spoilers and how stock was limited.

I've wanted one for a while but just never got round to ordering one but thought I'd better act fast

Phone call yesterday and this is here today

So bit of a shop about for tyres, read various reviews and spoke to various folk and finally settled for these from oponeo.

Went for the 595rsr in a 235/40/18 in the end. Spoke to a few folk who seem happy with them but more so me pal who won the pro british drift championship last year.

He's sponsored by Driftworks and has been in Motorsport all his life so if there good for his 650bhp m3 they'll do for my humble megane.

Just received the first pair off oponeo, still waiting for the other 2

So been fairly busy recently, family commitments, wedding planning, work and fixing other folks cars!

As well as the RSR's I've also inherited a pair of dunlop direzza's which intend to use on the front when I get some spare wheels and maybe even buy another pair!

I got these of a pal Steve from the Meg forum after doing him a few favours on his r26r

So today I got me arse into gear and down the tyre shop to have the RSR's fitted

So far I can't comment on them, I've driven from the tyre shop to home and to work tonight and they seem to hold up well so far in the rain and even the odd bit of standing water but I don't drive like a prick in w**k conditions either way.

I had Dunlop direzza's on my clio, great tyres, plenty of grip, and wore very well.

Yeah these have done a couple of days at cadwell but tbh there have loads of tread left on them.

So far I'm impressed with the RSR's for the money on the road and they don't half warm up quick, also sidewalls seem much stiffer then the ps3's I removed

So it's not been overly eventful recently a new battery and that's about it, just enjoying the car at its current spec.

So battery was getting lazy, checked for drains and charge rate but it was the original so I thought now was the time so 50 quid later and I had a new exide with 3 year guarantee

So today I went up the local sprint track, Curborough where I'm a member for a few runs. Good afternoon tbh and stiffened it up a little more and really happy with the results

Just ordered some fresh fluids for change before cadwell on the 6th of May which I'm really looking forward too

  Megane r26
First video from yesterday, steady run as it was me first run and didn't quite know how much grip surface was going to offer with the rain.

Bc's were still set fairly soft but got jacked up afterwards :)

Those last few laps we did you really started to push hard... Nice work for your second trackday and first time at Cadwell, Dan!

Just caught up with this. Top work, wish I lived closer to curborough :(

Curborough is good, fun on an afternoon for peanuts and a good bunch of folk and mix of cars

It's a hard one to master as you only get one run at a time so consistency isn't the name of the day

  Megane r26
So hit Cadwell again Wednesday afternoon, went up with me mate Steve in his r26r and as usual we had a great afternoon, weather was banging and got chatting to a few like minded enthusiasts as you do.

As always the Meganes performed faultlessly and really showed there worth on track.

Took a few things away with me to do before the Oulton RS day in August.

First off as the night went on the brakes felt a tad spongy, I'm putting it down to fluid as I'm not sure when it was last changed and everything else is brand new and always need happy with DS1.11's. So first off is a full fluid change and some braided lines.

Secondly I'm gonna replace the standard 4kg rear springs that come with the BC fast road to 7kg to match the front

And last but not least it's going on a diet and getting some fixed seats!!!!

So all in all really happy with the car and my track work seems to be going from strength to strength

  Megane r26
Car looks great Dan. What's your plans for this? Cage etc..?

Yeah potentially, I've got a lot of things that's come before the car at the minute (wedding and new house) so progress may not be as quick as usual.

Been pricing up P4P 5mm lexan rear windows, been looking for some form of composite panels (boot, bonnet etc) but it's proving hard as I'd imagine there isn't really a market like the clio and I don't want to fork out for carbon and then paint on top.

For now a set of seats and stripped out rear and lighter battery will do though as there's a few areas I'd like to work on, fuel system, few more brake up grades too
