Not what i wanted to wake upto

Thankfully not damage to the car if thats what you thought, however, still something i really didnt need right now.:(

I open the garage this morning to set off for work only to find my car looking rather sad, a great pool of engine oil on the garage floor. After futher inspection, its dripping directly from the sump. Great just what i wanted, poor thing. :(

I really hope its that simple, if its anything big i simply cant afford to get a garage fix it, me and the old man will have a bash but i really hope its nothing terminal. :(

OH and to top it off the leccy sunroof is shagged too, my luck with cars is pure c**k, it really is. I dont think ive ever had a car that hasnt leaked oil, i dont exactly rag them i dunno

Thats the sort of luck I have with cars too and yet mates who treat their cars like sh!t seem to get off rather lightly - wheres the justice in that eh ?

Worst thing was when my last car decided to slip the timing belt on the key moments before I was due to pick up the buyer in it. He had a cheque made out to me for the asking price and it was a done deal...until that happened. I cant tell you how gutted I was. Hope you get it all sorted mate.

Cheers, yeah i know what you mean. I was amazed at my luck when the garage took my old 99K miles 1990 H reg uno 45 with an oil leak for £175. It was running fine tho, however, the day i went to trade it in, started it up and it was only firing on 3 cylinders!! never in its life had that happened, thre day it was going i drove 55 miles on the cylinders my luck it cack!

Whats the worst it can be! Cracked sump! Down the scrappy, £10, job done!

Engine needs raising if thats the case tho, still not very resureing. Ive only had the car for a few months so far :(

It could be head, sump, rocker gasket etc tho. A cracked sump is just one of them.

on a 1.4rt its either most likely the sump washer or the sump gasket is leaking, the washer takes 10 mins and the gasket about 30 if u know what ur doing...

Sweet, should manage it then. Thanks for the encouragement :D

One thing that right f**ked me off, is the haynes says "go to a dealer, its complicated" in regards to the s. roof

Just had a poke, the sump has rusted through :(

Looks like i new sump then, could try and bodge it but dont want to risk it happening again.

Anyone got a sump for a RT in the sheffield, chesterfield, rotherham area? ;)
