nova sr burnning oil

nova sr burnning oil
can you any one help the car is up to 180 bhp
but is burnning oil

oh and by the hi to everyone
iam new

if you can squeeze it in there im pretty sure your intelligent enough to find where its letting oil by.

Ramshank under what conditions is it burning oil? I assume you can see it?

ben you ever worked on one of these heads? Bloody horrible, vertical valves etc etc

worse than the kent, not quites its still an ohc engine. Good old twisted bathtub chamber.

You seen my rsc thread abotu the headwork?

Hmm cav gsi then nova gsi lump, hmmmmmmm

lol, yup two very different engines. my mate has a 16v calibra with the redtop engine (xe/xp ?i forget) in it (thank god them ecotecs suck balls) and woth only a zorst its running 160bhp and seems generally pretty healthy for a car with 138,000 miles on it.

cally runs the XE but theres three versions, the ecotech, the XE coscast head and the XE GM head.

The early coscast head is the only one that actually puts out the 156bhp.

his is the early one on a k plate, he upset a few peeps who had spend a fair amount on mods on their 2.0 16v lumped calibras at a recent rolling road event with that figure as he was running higher bhp than some of those with mods  the heads were a problem on some and prone to cracking, more so on the turbo engined variant.

oops my bad, thinking of the m20 lump in a beemer:oops:. i know a guy who made a load of cash on a calibra turbo he bought. the guy he bough it off had this problem with the head and sold it to him for next to nothing as he didnt realise that it was covered by an extendend warranty he had bought with the car, this warranty was transferrable to the next owner and my mate promptly took it in had all the work done at no charge under warranty then sold the car for 3 times what he paid for it, jammy git
