Some people on here have got some excellent deals, how are you managing it, i have spoke to 4 people in retention, all gormless monkeys, I am very polite on the phone and not rude!!

Say you want to leave, usually works.... i did it last week, got offered for £20 200 mins and 1000 texts, and i'm on a £15 tariff.....ooo and got a k800i free too. Just ask for ur PAC code, they put you through to the appropriate person and they usually offer you a decent deal

Well it was 18 months ago but i got 200 mins and 500 free text for £24 a month with a w800i
Just renewed got the same deal again (should be £30 a month) and got it knocked down to £24 again with a k800i in bronze with bluetooth headset. It suits me and 02 couldnt match it lol/

O2 would not offer me anything the other day I have 3 weeks left on my contract and I broke my phone at work. Wouldn't upgarde me early (they have before) so I am using a borrowed phone at moment. To top it off the cheeky b*****ds have sent me a postcard with there retention number!!!! Says gives a ring we can sort out a deal!!!!

She was moody. Rubbish deal dont you think.

She was only too happy to give me the pac code, and I said no, call u later. I am going to call another person and see what they can do.

I just cannot believe she was offering me a worse deal than in the shop!! She told me to go in there! Damn git.

the problem i had was theres afew call centers and u carnt pick which u get , every time i got the manchester one they was complete nobs claimin best deal was xx, then one time i got through to leeds one and they offered me a decent deal so i took that.

o2`s prolly got wise to the fact everyone threatens to leave then never does

Be careful they can just give you your code as they did to me an no offer.

your going to have trouble getting wacky deals now as they use a new system called vision, basically tells the agent how much they can offer based on average spend and other factors, things they can give nop probs are 400 foc texts.... and on 18 month contracts over 30 quid a month should be able to get 1000 except in my last week there when i was giving 1/2 price line rental 1000 free texts and any phone anyone wanted......

Just went from 100 minutes and 500 texts on a 12 month deal to 600 minutes and 1000 free texts for 18 months with a k800i on O2, quite chuffed!

I always used to get a good deal from o2 retentions but last time around was a struggle. I finally did get a deal that was very good but I doubt the same thing will happen again. I imagine I will be switching to a different network at renewal time.

IIRC the deals they offer you is dependant on how much you spend a month regardless of how many free mins/texts you use up as part of you deal.

The best thing to do is go to another operator and ask what deal they can do you and take it back to o2 saying if they don't match/beat it then you'll leave. Alternatively wait until they call you saying your upgrade is due and act like you will move provider. If you spend enough they will want to keep you and give you a better deal + possibly free stuff.

I moved to T-Mobile from O2 after T-Mobile offered me a better deal and then O2 cocked up and sent me a bill for the wrong phone to be cancelled around £400 - then took the money anyway despite 6 phone calls saying they wouldn't and it would be amended. Phoned the bank, recalled the funds and cancelled the Direct Debit and told O2 they can call me when they want money, now they just turn the phone off when I don't pay!! I've told them a few times now which number to get hold of me on, they're b*****d awkward!

With T-Mobile I got my unlimited internet Web'n'Walk Pro datacard for my laptop, and £180 'credit' to use through Flext 35 and unlimited internet on there, and I got the MDA Vario II when it was new. Got all that with both insured for £75/month, and now having spoken to someone I know in T-Mobile my bill is never more than £37 a month with all of it, including going over my allowance (as before I was getting £100-£110 bills going over my allowance!)

Top job, only problem I'm having is it's taken 2 weeks so far to sort the internet on my MDA, but I've had 2 replacement handsets and a call every few days so they are looking at it, and they refunded me £7.50 for the internet on it.

tbh the first deal at £35 if thats on a 12 month contract thats actualy VERY good. the usal 21 month at £35 on O2 is 400mins and 100text. So if you got offered 740/400 plus an ipod thats very good. The second deal is just a standard deal tho.
