Official Renault CD Player

I recently bought an official Renault cd player from an 04 car, but to my disappointment, the CD player isn't compatible with my car, it's a 52 reg 1.2 8v Renault Clio, with a cassette player as standard.

I’m wondering why won't the CD player work? I’m assuming on higher spec Clio's the CD information comes up on a screen near the speed dials?

On a final note, the guy who sold me the item said it'll work on all Renault cars, what a lying pig!!

If you haven't got the screen at the top of the dash why did you buy it?

How would you know what track you were listening or which radio station you were tuned into?

I thought all the clios had the display on top of the dash where the temp etc is displayed my old expression had it. And mine was a 52 reg as well.

strange - my clio although being 2003 is on a 52 plate and has the screen - weird. Sorry that doesnt answer your question tho - lol

Dont you have the screen just above the air vents where the temp time is displayed?

As thats the screen it uses. And im pretty sure it should work.

My car is very standard, the lowest of the lot, atm, the radio information is showen on the cassette player. Therefore, the cd player isn't compatibile with my car because I haven't got the neccessary screen to display the radio/cd info etc because all my info is showen on the cassette player.

Yep, some of the lowest models don't have the dash screen.

Your best bet will be just to buy an aftermarket headunit and use that.

I didnt know that i thought my old one was pretty much bottom of the range. But i had the upgraded system fitted from factory with extra speakers cd player etc.

only the authentiques have no dash display as far as i know every other model is equiped with display and steering stalk controls.
