Well just put a deposit down in this....

Inside is mint, good SH, paint needs a couple of touch ups and I'm not sure about the exhaust!

Picking it up tomorrow and will be keen to start meddling to get it how I like - ipod first, possible speaker upgrade second!

Looking forward to the fun and I hope these things are as good as reported to be!

Hai mate, if you don't like the exhaust do a search for prospeed on here there 172 exhausts are easily the best looking.

if you need help with your audio see Matt at Mt audio on here, he just sorted out a stalk control adaptor for my 182 when no else could, knows his stuff.

Lovely colour, looks in very good condition for the year and offensively low miles too.
Wheels look in good nick too.
I think the exhaust needs stealthing again for the more subtle look.:approve:

Wheels are mint, as in interior.

I do have a question - he has a proper receipt for timing belt £110 plus labour - is that likely to be cam belt alone or cam belt plus aux belt?

I also looked at a mint Black 172 with incredible Service History - 3 cam belt changes at 54k! If anyone in London is after a 172 I can recommend it - he has spent a fortune on it, its just the low mileage that pipped it for me.

Will be looking at stealth exhaust but I'm hoping I can swap or sell the current one to offset the cost - I cannot blow loads of money on this car.

I will search later but what is the standard sterio like? Would I be better to get ipod cable and stick with original (already had email from MT) or change headunit to Alpine type (would be good to have full control).

Any recommendations for servicing near Reading?

Sounds like a Aux belt price a cambelt cost 400+ from the cheapest specialists and 800 ish from renault.

You misunderstand - the kit price was £110 + VAT for a 'timing kit' then an extra 300 odd for fitting. He says it was two kits so reckons it was including the aux belt.
