Hi.

One thing I must recommend is to use some proper oil. I only use full synthetic oil (Shell Helix Ultra 5W40). And if you are not using a special Long Life oil then change the oil and filter for every 15.000 km (even if the service interval is 30.000 km).

ok so if im not flushing the engine, is it simply a case of draining the old oil, replacing the drain cap and then filling it up with fresh oil? is there anything i should be looking for in the oil? should i expect to see alot of s**t in the oil or not?

Keep the car on level ground, dont bother with a flush (meal particles are suspended within the oil, just make sure the oil is very hot)

With the new oil filter, put some oil around the rubber seal.

With the sump plug, use a new copper washer.

Job done 20mins.

Bobby personally I wouldn't bother jacking it up, just make sure your on level ground, theres more than enough room to get a old dish bowl under, & a sump tool.

Also don't forget to change the washer on the sump plug.

Did you just read the post above yours and copy & paste?:S

Using a full synthetic oil and changing it offen is the two most important things.

Also, like GavFre says, put som oil on the oil filters rubber sealing before screwing it on.

And like Tom RT says, replace the washer on the sump plug (is made of cobber and does not cost much from Renault).

Do you even know where the oil filter is on a DCI?

The dci's use the metal one with the rubber insert ie the more expensive one doesn't realy matter though.

Don't bother with an engine flush

Oh, by the way, its a steel washer, its not a 1.2/old 8v Engine etc.

Thanks

The washers I got from Renault the last two times was made of copper ... not steel.

Again, you just copied from the above post and using a copper washer is fine.

As for your comment
