oil on rocker and grind from engine

Basically my 172 cup has a fair bit of oil on top of the rocker. Theres a little puddle and quite alot stained on the rocker cover

Also can hear a slight grind, like a bearing,frm the front when under load. Maybe alternator im guessing?

Just got the car so any opinions or previous problems please let me know

i think alot of people get the oil on the rocker mate, unless your oil is dropping i dont think its anything to worry about. could even be there due to oil changes and having shakey hands when pouring it out the bottle lol

while it's common, i'd be wary of it, you could still find it travels through the gaps & goes right onto your cambelt, then it's no fun!

I am a little wary because there seems to b more then what you would call normal. So no one has suffered with rocker gasket issues etc?

i have this issue, went to Renault under warranty who "claim" it was something else, and wiped the oil away so i'm currently waiting for it to build back up a bit before taking it back for them to do the job properly!

I get a bit of leakage on top. Not enough to affect the oil level though.
