Oil warning !

  Nissan 350Z
I was at work today and went to a site where i had to park my car round the back of a building. It was sort of at an angle, similar to what it might be if you parked with say the left wheels on a very high kerb.

I just finished and when I turned on the ignition I got

-------------
OIL

Displayed like above, and it was flashing. The SERV light was also illuminated.

I moved my car onto a flat bit and shut the engine off, put the ignition back on. Still doing it :(

So I got out, checked the dipstick, seemed fine as far as I could tell, but admittedly I didnt have any tissue to wipe it off with.

So I got back in, turned the key again, and it went back on to:

OIL OK

It has only ever been OIL OK ever since I got the car, so I always assumed it was alright.

Do you think that it was just the parking at an angle or is there possibly something wrong?

I've checked the oil just now, its half way between the top and bottom mark on the dipstick.

Must have just been the way it was parked - it was at a funny angle like... but it does make you panic a bit when you see that and you arent anywhere convenient to get any oil!
