how often ill need to change it, and what brand do u recommend?

fully synths will typically double the drain periods, so i would say 4-6 thousand miles depending on traffic conditions. I.e. city use = shorter drain periods.
5w just means you can use in in really freezing conditions and actual operational temp viscosites are near the same. Mobil motorsport 15w50 is really good stuff.....and fine for normal temperate use.
