Old alloys & tyres - what to do with them?

Chaps,

My girlfriend's Puma had an advisory of two dented alloys on her MOT this week. We picked up a full set off eBay (including pretty shot tyres) and basically got the best set out of the 8.

What's the best thing to do with the other four now? Would scrappers want to buy them for a couple of quid - or is it simply a trip to the tip?

Or are there special firms online that take such items?

do you get charged disposal for old tyres?, if so guessing he will about break even
