OMP Tow eye - Using threaded inserts to get to M16 - thoughts?

I'm thinking of getting the OMP towing eye, but not keen on drilling through the thread and then not being able to remove easily (like the Renault one)


I was browsing the internet and came across these -

Would it be possible to attach these onto the OMP towing eye M12 thread this will make it an M16 thread, would that make it possible to just screw in?

I own one of them! Bought it when it was a lot cheaper then that!
